Are you a person with disability or family member on the Gold Coast? Are you looking for ways to improve connections to community and to build belonging? CRU has a workshop for you!The US surgeon general, Vivek Murthy, recently released an advisory on loneliness and isolation to draw attention to this urgent, and critical issue. In it he has said that “While the epidemic of loneliness and isolation is widespread and has profound consequences for our individual and collective health and well-being, there is a medicine hiding in plain sight: social connection.” CRU recognises that many people with disabilities are experiencing isolation and an absence of belonging and connection - that is why we have developed Connecting with Community: Starting to talk about belonging- a practical workshop which includes real strategies, with ideas and approaches that can help you to live a more connected life. To learn more join CRU on Tuesday 13th June at Southport Community Centre.Register here: https://events.humanitix.com/tours/connecting-with-community.This workshop will also be held at Sunnybank on Wednesday the 31st May - Tickets are still available! ...
