CRU’s ‘Families for Inclusive Education’ (FFIE) online resource collection is designed for parents of children with disability, as well as others keen to include all children together in the regular classroom at their local school. In our most recent newsletter, the FFIE consultants share what they consider the ‘hidden gems’ of this collection: their favourite must-reads and must-sees on inclusive education. A home is much more than just a house or apartment, but the actual building is still an essential part of having a home! In Australia, many people with disability cannot find suitable housing for their needs. Yet only 5% of new homes currently being built comply with voluntary accessibility guidelines. In February 2021, Building Ministers from across Australia will meet to decide whether to introduce mandatory minimum accessibility standards into the National Building Code. CRU supports the Building Better Homes Campaign, and encourages you to take action in support of the campaign, so Australia starts building the homes that Australians actually need. https://www.buildingbetterhomes.org.au/take-action.html ... We have recently included a second day of training to give greater knowledge and skills about how to support people to build lasting relationships and connection with community. We are running sessions in December and January in Mt Gravatt and Gaythorne. These events book out quickly so we encourage you to register soon. ... View more about this articleView less about this article
