Rockhampton & Emerald – CRU is excited to be bringing the workshop Responding Well to People with ‘Challenging Behaviour’ & its Messages to Central Qld in May. This popular workshop does not provide a recipe to ‘fix’ a person with disability. Yet new houses and apartments do not have to meet minimum accessibility standards – and only currently 5% of new home builds comply with the voluntary Liveable Housing Guidelines. Are you a Qld parent of a high school student with disability? Registrations are now open for ‘Imagining, Discovering and Finding Work’ workshops to be held throughout Queensland in 2021. Join us for an interactive and participatory full day workshop that aims to bring families together to connect and increase confidence to seek out meaningful, paid employment for their secondary school student with disability. This workshop will enable participants to get actively started in a range of processes so they leave with some concrete plans and strategies to find work for their secondary student with a disability. Participants will hear stories and experiences from people with a disability and their family members about practical tips and strategies when planning for and finding real and meaningful work.The first four workshops in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Townsville and Brisbane North are now Open for Registration, with more to be listed soon!
