The NDIS – Getting Informed: Springfield Lakes

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), a new way of supporting people with a disability in Australia. The scheme will start to roll out in the Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Senic Rim and Somerset regions from 1st July 2017.
Join us for a workshop and a conversation that provide information about the NDIS, and are designed to help people think about how they can best used the opportunities offered by the new scheme.
You can register for either the workshop or the conversation, or both. Places are limited.
9:15am – 11:45am The NDIS – Getting Informed
This workshop provides information about the why, when and how of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Queensland, and things you can do now to get ready. What do I need to know to feel ready for the NDIS?
12:30pm – 3:00pm Conversation and Community Connection about the NDIS
Join us in a guided conversation about practical strategies for you and others in your community to share information, prepare and make best use of the opportunities offered by the NDIS. What are the opportunities for you and for others?
A light lunch will be provided for people who register for both the workshop and the conversation.

This workshop and conversation are for people with a disability, families and their close friends who are interested in hearing about the NDIS and exploring what they can do to be ready for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Each member of our team has many years of experience working with people with a disability and their families. Some of our team also have family members who have a disability and will share from personal experience.
