CRU is offering a range of different workshops to assist people with disability and families to get ready for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) – including new options in 2016. Taking Charge of Change is still available, along with new short workshops and a workshop especially for families with young children. Registrations for upcoming workshops in the Ipswich, Toowoomba, Southern Downs and Beaudesert regions are now open.
Funded by the Queensland Government, these workshops are a good way to start preparing for the NDIS and also to meet other people who are preparing for the NDIS too.
Our upcoming events for people with disability and families in the Toowoomba, Southern Downs, Scenic Rim and Ipswich regions are:
- Taking Charge of Change in Toowoomba on Monday 18th of April.
- Making the Most of the NDIS in Warwick on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th April. These workshops contain new content and follow on from our Taking Charge of Change workshops.
- Making the Most of the NDIS in Ipswich on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th April. These workshops contain new content and follow on from our Taking Charge of Change workshops.
- Taking Charge of Change in Beaudesert on Thursday 5th of May.
We are planning to hold more workshops through the South West region up to the end of June, as well as some tentative sessions planned in Stanthorpe plus a Tara/Dalby road trip and a Pittsworth/Millmerran road trip coming together (dates to be confirmed). To hear updates on these please join our mailing list or like us on Facebook.
As a reminder, our Conference – Claiming a Positive Future: The power of possibility – is coming up and we have some special bursaries for people with disability and families travelling from regional Queensland. To apply for these please go to our Conference Documents page,
If you work with people with disability and families, please pass this information on and encourage them to register.
