CRU is one of eleven organisations that have been funded as part of the Queensland Government’s NDIS Participant Readiness strategy to provide free events to assist people with disability and their families to be better prepared for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) as it is implemented in Queensland.
We will continue to offer free Participant Readiness events in Brisbane and begin to offer events in Logan, Redland City and the Gold Coast until December 2017. We have finished our Participant Readiness work in South West Queensland and will finish in Central Queensland on 30th of June 2017.
These events are regularly updated to reflect new information, learnings and resources that have become available as the NDIS starts to be implemented across Queensland between now and mid-2019.
- The NDIS – Getting Informed sessions provide introductory information about the what, why, how and when of the scheme. You will learn how to access the scheme and what to do to feel prepared to develop a plan with the NDIS when the time comes. What do I need to know to feel ready for the NDIS?
- The NDIS – Sharing Practical Strategies sessions are conversations about the practical strategies that can help you feel more prepared, confident and ready to make good use of the opportunities offered by the NDIS. We will also explore ways of sharing information about the NDIS with others in your community. What are some of the things people and communities can do to prepare?
