Mini OISD Consultations: Targeted Consultations on Key Life Domains

May 16, 2017 @ 9:00 am - May 17, 2017 @ 5:00 pm

About the Opportunity:

CRU is offering a unique professional development opportunity for a small number of past OISD course participants. We are partnering with Staffing Options to conduct targeted reviews of the service arrangements of three individuals using the framework of the OISD course.

This is rare and exciting learning experience in which participants will revisit the material covered in the course and further develop their skills through the application of knowledge in the development of a proposal for the focus people.

Obligations of Participants:

  • Pre-work: familiarisation of the person’s circumstances via written briefing
  • Two contact days on 16th and 17th May
  • Work post contact days: Continued work on the proposal to refine the content before presenting to the focus person

About the presenter:

Michael KendrickDr Michael Kendrick is well known as an educator, advocate, consultant and author. He worked in government and non-government agencies before becoming a consultant. Michael has been a regular visitor to Queensland for over 30 years.

He brings an understanding of local and national issues, as well as an international perspective on the issues that people with disability and their supporters face as they strive to live in their community.

Michael will be joined by Margaret Rodgers in the co-trainer role.  Focus people will be individuals whose funding is hosted by Staffing Options.

Expression of Interest

There are a limited number of positions on the review teams. EOIs will be considered in order to select the team members. This opportunity is only available to past OISD students.

Please return EOI forms to Danielle Mason:  danielle.mason@cru.org.au by the 21st of April.  Places will be confirmed by the 2nd of May.

Need some assistance with fees?

If cost is a barrier to submitting an EOI for this opportunity then please contact CRU to discuss this.

CRU has some capacity to reduce registration fees and assist with other costs, particularly for people with disability & family members not sponsored by an organisation.
