Introduction to Social Role Valorisation:
May 30, 2016 @ 9:00 am - May 31, 2016 @ 5:00 pm
Using SRV to improve the lifestyles of people with disabilities and the support arrangements we offer.
Monday 30, Tuesday 31 May
About the workshop:
This two-day workshop will explore what we mean by ‘quality’ in support arrangements and how ideas and principles from Social Role Valorisation (SRV) can be used to strengthen quality so that the people we are concerned about can have rich and meaningful lives.
Having a solid theoretical framework that builds on the notion of ‘valued roles for all’ at this time of great change within the sector is particularly advantageous in both designing responses to people’s needs and to analysing what we offer. The workshop is a mixture of input, discussion and exercises.
