CRUcial Conversation: Inclusive Education – Everybody’s Business
June 12, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
About the Workshop:
Inclusion is not just the concern or responsibility of parents and teachers of a child with disability. The ways in which other members of a child’s extended network and members of the community generally value and respond to inclusion in schools will be crucial to how successfully inclusive education is embedded and available to all.
Topics covered will include:
This informal conversation evening will explore what promotes and undermines successful inclusion and address questions such as:
- Why does Inclusive Education matter for our community?
- How do all children benefit from being at school together?
- Will my child be disadvantaged if there is a student with disability in their class?
- What does the current research say?
- What can ordinary community members do to support inclusive education?
“Inclusive education is everyone’s business and inclusive education for every student is both an educational means and goal.”
