Bringing the Good Life to LIFE. A workshop for families
October 10, 2014 @ 9:15 am - 2:45 pm
** A Workshop for Family Members **
Imagining a positive future for our family member is an excellent starting point, but what are some things you can do to help bring that good life to LIFE?
This workshop will help family members understand the potential for valued roles to be the building blocks for a rich and meaningful life. Through presentations and discussion, we will explore how a person can be supported to develop roles which will help them to participate, contribute and belong to community.
The workshop will outline the key things to think about if you want to build on current roles and develop new roles. There will be exercises and practical tips to help you plan next steps as you work to develop meaningful roles.
It will be helpful to your participation if you bring ideas about what you imagine is a fulfilling life for your family member. You may also want to come with some ideas about current or potential roles that you would like to develop further.
Who should attend?
This workshop is for family members (parents, brothers and sisters, other family members, close friends) who want to learn how to apply ideas about valued social roles to help your family member get a good life. It is relevant for families of all ages and will include exercises to help people translate ideas into practice.
