We are delighted to announce that registrations are now open for our upcoming celebration of 30 years of CRU.
To mark this anniversary, we invite you to join us on the 26 & 27 October at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for Inspiring, Connecting, Acting for Change: Three Events to mark Three Decades. This will be a very important gathering for CRU and we hope that you will be able to join us.
You are welcome to join us for one, two or three of the events. While we hope that many people will be able to join us for all 3 events, the different registration options will offer maximum flexibility.
• Event 1 is a workshop, “Being Realistic Isn’t Realistic: Discovering Potential, Realising Dreams” on Friday 26th October with Norman Kunc and Emma van der Klift from British Columbia, Canada;
• Event 2 is a Celebration Dinner also being held on Friday 26th October at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre;
• Event 3 is a forum on Saturday 27th October entitled “Honouring the Past: Embracing the Future”.
While more details will be forthcoming for all events, we are opening registrations now so that people have plenty of notice to make plans, use funds from this financial year, and have more weeks to take advantage of early-bird pricing, which will be in place until 31st August 2018.
This is a celebration to mark change efforts over the past three decades since the founding of CRU, however, we are very mindful of making this event relevant to our current and future efforts towards better lives for people with disability. Although the three events will be different in format, we hope attendees at each of the events will be inspired, connect with others, and feel more equipped to act for change.
We invite you to join us to hear and share ideas and stories about what makes a positive difference in the lives of people with disability, their families and our communities, in order to feel hopeful and emboldened for the decades to come!
Please see the attached flyers and our website for more information, or contact CRU. On the website, you will find answers to frequently asked questions on support for people with disability to attend, and also links to application forms for sponsorship assistance for people with disability and families from regional Queensland, venue information and a list of local accommodation options for those needing it.
To register click on the link on the right or see our website for more details.
All of us at CRU look forward to seeing you in October!
